Our Engineering team is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the systems and technologies that drive Unifonic’s solutions. We work closely with other departments to ensure our products and services meet the needs of our customers. We seek a skilled and passionate Data Engineer with expertise in Tableau and other Business Intelligence (BI) tools to join our dynamic data team. The ideal candidate will have experience with building, managing, and optimizing data pipelines while leveraging Tableau and other visualization tools such as Power BI for comprehensive reporting and data insights. You will collaborate closely with data scientists, and business stakeholders in this role to deliver actionable data solutions that drive strategic business decisions.
Help us shape the future of communication by:
- Designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and systems to support analytics, business intelligence, and reporting across the organization
- Integrating data from various sources (databases, APIs, and cloud platforms) into data models optimized for visualization in Tableau and other BI tools
- Developing and maintaining dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Qlik, and similar tools to provide actionable insights
- Collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver tailored solutions that meet business needs
- Ensuring data integrity, security, and accuracy across all data systems and reporting platforms
- Optimizing existing data pipelines and troubleshoot data issues for performance, scalability, and accuracy
- Participating in code reviews and ensure best practices for data engineering and visualization
- Documenting data workflows, architecture, and processes for internal and external use
Job requirements
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer with expertise in data modeling, ETL processes, and database management
- Proficiency in Tableau for data visualization, along with experience in other BI tools such as Power BI, Looker, Qlik, or similar platforms is a plus
- Strong experience with SQL and data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery), and familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python for data transformation and automation
- Familiarity with modern data tools (e.g., Apache Spark, Airflow, dbt) and workflow orchestration for automated data pipelines
- Understanding of data governance, data quality, and data security best practices
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work independently or in a team.
- Ability to understand the requirements and write Functional Specification Documents, Design Documents, and Mapping Specifications.
- Advanced working knowledge and experience with relational and non-relational databases
- Experience with Tableau Server dashboard deployment and management
- Knowledge of data architecture, including OLAP/OLTP systems, data lakes, and data mesh
- Experience in building self-service BI tools for non-technical users and supporting business teams in data exploration
- Familiarity with machine learning and AI integration into data pipelines
- Experience with agile methodologies and DevOps practices for data engineering and BI tool management
