About the role
We are looking for a passionate leader who can grow and manage a distributed, high-performing team. This is a hybrid role (2 days in the office per week) based in our central London office, where the core of our tech team is located.
Responsibilities:
- Line manage one or more cross-functional teams (backend, frontend, infrastructure).
- Contribute to product strategy, set team-level OKRs, and track progress and accountability.
- Grow a diverse, highly skilled, and motivated group of engineers.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing.
- Play a key role in improving and implementing processes and values.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, design, operations, and learning teams.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of experience as an Engineering Manager, successfully leading, managing, and coaching a team in a high-growth tech/product company.
- Strong technical skills, architectural knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and experience setting strategic direction.
- A passion for mentoring and supporting the career development of engineers.
- Experience building cross-functional teams, including recruiting, promoting, and onboarding.
Bonus points if you have hands-on experience with
- Java, Spring Boot in the backend, or TypeScript, React or React Native in the frontend.
The interview process
The process involves a recruiter call and then a technical interview (coding and architecture/system design interview) followed by an in-person interview in the London office that includes People management and behavioural interview.
