Tasks and Responsibilities:
Aerial Surveying: Plan, coordinate, and execute aerial surveying missions using drones. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety protocols. Analyze and interpret aerial survey data to produce accurate and reliable results.
Lidar and Photogrammetry: Conduct Lidar surveys and process the collected data for various applications. Utilize photogrammetry techniques to generate detailed 3D models and maps. Integrate Lidar and photogrammetry data with other spatial datasets for comprehensive analysis.
GIS and Related Systems: Develop, implement, and manage GIS applications and databases. Perform spatial analysis and modeling to support project objectives. Ensure data integrity and accuracy within GIS systems.
Project Management: Lead and manage geomatics projects from inception to completion. Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure project goals are met. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation.
Technical Expertise: Stay current with advancements in geomatics technology and methodologies. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to geomatics equipment and software.
Quality Assurance: Implement quality control procedures to ensure data accuracy and reliability. Conduct regular audits and reviews of geomatics processes and outputs.
Education and Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Geospatial Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in geomatics engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven expertise in aerial surveying using drones, Lidar, and photogrammetry techniques.
- Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and related systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Certification or licensure in geomatics or surveying is an asset.
