Responsibilities
- Develop and manage detailed release plans, ensuring alignment with product and engineering roadmaps.
- Coordinate release activities and resources, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
- Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality.
Release Planning and Coordination:
- Act as a primary liaison between Product Management, Engineering, Scrum Masters, and other business stakeholders.
- Provide regular status updates on release progress, issues, and risks to all relevant stakeholders.
- Organize and lead release status meetings, ensuring clear communication and alignment across teams.
Release Process Management:
- Implement and manage release processes, including scheduling, coordination, and execution of releases.
- Ensure that releases comply with governance, quality, and documentation standards.
- Oversee the release approval process, ensuring all necessary stakeholders have approved the release.
Continuous Improvement:
- Analyze release metrics and feedback to identify areas for process improvement.
- Lead post-release reviews and contribute to retrospectives to drive continuous improvement in release management practices.
- Implement best practices for release management and support the team in adopting new processes and tools.
Risk Management:
- Identify, manage, and communicate risks associated with releases.
- Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks and ensure smooth release execution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve release-related issues promptly.
Change Management:
- Coordinate and manage the impact of changes to the release schedule.
- Ensure all changes follow the appropriate change management processes and are communicated effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.5+ years of experience in release management, software project management, or related roles.
- Experience working with Agile methodologies, particularly in a Scrum environment.
- Proven track record of managing multiple releases across various platforms and environments.
- Experience in collaborating with Engineering and Product teams in a SaaS environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and release automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and other project management and collaboration tools.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and ITIL processes.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle tight deadlines.
